Can Fildena Cause Dizziness After Standing Up Quickly?
Fildena can cause dizziness when standing up quickly in some users. Fildena contains sildenafil citrate, a PDE5 inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction. One of its known effects is temporary lowering of blood pressure, which can lead to a condition called orthostatic hypotension.
Why dizziness happens
When Fildena relaxes blood vessels, it improves blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. However, this widening of blood vessels can also slightly reduce overall blood pressure. When a person stands up quickly, gravity already causes a temporary drop in blood pressure. Combined with sildenafil’s effect, this can result in lightheadedness, dizziness, or brief fainting sensations.
Who is more at risk
Dizziness is more likely in people who:
Take higher doses of Fildena
Use alcohol while taking the medication
Are dehydrated or have low blood pressure
Take other blood pressure–lowering medicines
How to reduce risk
To minimize dizziness, it is recommended to stand up slowly, stay well hydrated, avoid excessive alcohol, and follow the prescribed dose. Sitting or lying down if dizziness occurs usually helps symptoms resolve quickly.
When to seek help
If dizziness is severe, persistent, or accompanied by chest pain or fainting, medical attention should be sought immediately.
Mild dizziness after standing up is a known but usually temporary side effect of Fildena due to its blood pressure–lowering action. |
